Here is everyone on a public Rust server right now: 92,434 players, 11,804 servers, 807 waiting in queue. Each server reports every five minutes, so the line moves as you watch. Below it, the last day and the last months. Then the split: game mode, modded or not, group size, gather rate, region and how fresh the wipe is. A few servers hold most of the players, and the chart shows how few.

Survivalthe standard game: gather, build, raid9,189 servers
The figure at the top of this page is 92,434, counted from what public servers report every five minutes and refreshed on the same cycle. It rises and falls with the time of day, so check the line above before you read much into one number. Last updated 27 Oct 2026, 16:15 UTC.
02Why is this lower than the number on Steam?
Steam counts anyone with Rust open, including people in menus, on loading screens and on servers that do not list themselves. This page only counts players on public servers. That limit is also what lets the charts split players by mode, region and wipe age.
03When are the most players online?
In the European evening. The chart by hour of day averages the last week in UTC, and the busiest hour usually carries more than twice the players of the quietest. Evening in Australia lands in the UK morning; evening on the US east coast lands after midnight in the UK. The day's 98,991 is marked on the line.
04Are more players on modded or vanilla servers?
Modded holds more players in total, mostly because there are many more modded servers. The split chart is live and shifts as servers report. For the vanilla side alone, the ranked lists are a place to start.
